Over the years we have found that we get asked many of the same questions, we’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions here for your reference. If you have a more specific question please get in contact with us and we will be more than happy to help you out!
Where does the charter depart from?

Charters depart and return from Holdfast Shores Marina. The marina is located right at the end of Anzac Highway in Glenelg. At the LAST roundabout turn right into an undercover car park. If walking follow the promenade around until you reach the Oyster Bar then look over the balcony. If the boat is not there when you arrive do not panic it will not be far away.

What do I need to bring with me on the charter?

You will need to bring something to eat and drink (unless catering has been prearranged).
Hat, sunglasses, camera, soft soled shoes, sunscreen and a jacket (if cooler weather).
Feel free to bring a favourite rod if you wish.

Do you have bag limits?

We have a set of charter boat limits allowing each passenger.
1 Snapper over 60cm and 3 Snapper under 60cm but over the minimum length of 38cm.
10 King George Whiting over the minimum length of 31cm.

What is supplied on the charter?

All fishing equipment, bait, ice, eskies, microwave, kettle, large onboard toilet and comfortable seating.

Do we clean the catch?

Fisheries have implemented rules that prohibit charter boats from filleting fish at sea.
In special cases fish may be gutted and gilled at sea (if you are staying in a hotel).

What is the best way to transport our catch home?

Bring an esky and leave it in your car. We are happy to ice your catch.

Will I get seasick?

Unfortunately we have no control over who gets sick and who doesn’t. Precautions can be taken to reduce the chance though. Seasick tablets (start taking the night before), magnets and ginger are some of the remedies. Refraining from a big night at the pub prior to your charter is also a good idea.

Are we guaranteed to catch fish?

No guarantees can be given that every charter will be a successful one.
What we can guarantee is that we will work as hard as we can to find fish and will also provide you with a quality of service second to none.

What fish are we likely to catch?

Snapper, King George Whiting, Flathead, Trevally, Blue Morwong, Sharks, Snook, Garfish, Squid, Blue Swimmer Crabs, Mackerel and various reef species.

How is the catch divided?

The catch is usually divided evenly. In the case of larger or trophy fish these are kept by the angler who caught them.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking is permitted on the rear deck.

Are bananas permitted?

NO. Bananas are bad luck at sea.
